Language and Culture

People of this locality generally Bengali speaking but they have their own dialect. As this is an industrial area so people of different areas are living here. Language diversity is common phenomena here.

 

Ashuganj is famous for observing different cultural days and events. Bengali New Year which is called ‘Pohela Boishakh’ celebrates here with luxury. Authorities arrange a fair under the Bhairab-Ashuganj Bridge. It causes a big gathering in Ashuganj.  21 February, 26 March and 16 December are observes here with honor and pride. During these national days educational institutions performs display, march-past and other activities altogether. Even two big occasions for Muslims are observed here with flamboyancy. Here sits several large hut for cattle during Eid ul Adha.
